How this all began.

The seeds of this site go back many years. I was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ as a child, but that didn't seem to make much difference at the time. Many years later, after lots of "fun times" and many more disaterous times, I was still struggling with life. I think that if we are really honest with ourselves, we all wrestle with every avenue of the world around us. Such was my life in 1999 when we were looking for something wonderful to do for a final family vacation before our oldest went off to college. A friend asked us if we were interested in going with her to Russia on a short term missions trip. Please understand that I had no desire to go. They were the enemy that we were taught to hate. We did the duck and cover drills in school with all the rest of the kids. Sharon persisted however, and to be fair it did look like an adventure, so we told her that we would get our passports and IF God brought in the money, we would go.  Now friends, you should know better that to test God like that.  In five weeks we had $12,000.  I was dumbfounded.  Like Moses however, I continued to make excuses - the same ones he used too. I did however have to keep my word, so off we flew to a place never known to me or my family - Bishkek Kyrgyzstan. My interpreter turned out to be an ex Muslim lady who just happened to work for Campus Crusade for Christ. Long story short - nothing has ever been the same. Christ has shown his love to me in so many ways since then, that I cannot begin to tell of His love for me without becoming emotional.
As time goes on, perhaps some of those mission trip stories and others from my life will appear here also.  In the meantime, be encouraged by the stories of others. and if you are so inclined, take a monent, log in and post a God story of your own.  David
